Fair Use Shared Network Policy
Fair Use Shared Network Policy
Introduction
Welcome to Streamers Host's game
server hosting services. To ensure an equitable and consistent experience for
all our users, we have established this Fair Use Shared Network Policy
("Policy"). This Policy defines acceptable usage of our network
resources and outlines measures to maintain network performance and integrity.
§
Purpose
The purpose of this Policy is to:
Ensure fair access to network
resources for all users.
Prevent network abuse and maintain
optimal performance.
Protect the integrity and security of
our network infrastructure.
§
Acceptable Use
Users are expected to use the network
resources responsibly and adhere to the following guidelines:
Resource Usage: Users must avoid excessive
consumption of network resources, which could degrade the performance or
availability of the services for others. This includes CPU, bandwidth, memory,
and storage resources. Excessive use is defined as consuming more than 25% of
allocated CPU or memory resources for sustained periods (over 1 hour) or
exceeding the fair use bandwidth limits outlined below:
10 Gbps Port Servers: 20TB of data transfer per month.
1 Gbps Port Servers: unlimited data transfer per month.
100 Mbps Port Servers: unlimited data transfer per month.
Bandwidth Allocation: Bandwidth is a shared resource.
Users should refrain from activities that consume disproportionate amounts of
bandwidth, such as running multiple large file transfers or streaming
high-definition content simultaneously. Specific guidelines include:
10 Gbps Port Servers: Should not use more than 2 Gbps of
bandwidth consistently over a 24-hour period.
1 Gbps Port Servers: Should not use more than 300 Mbps
of bandwidth consistently over a 24-hour period.
100 Mbps Port Servers: Should not use more than 30 Mbps of
bandwidth consistently over a 24-hour period.
Server Performance: Users should configure their game
servers to optimize performance and minimize resource consumption. This
includes using efficient server configurations, limiting the number of active
connections, and managing in-game activities that could impact server
performance. For instance, setting appropriate limits on player counts and
reducing unnecessary background processes can help maintain optimal
performance.
Prohibited Activities: The following activities are
strictly prohibited:
Running servers or applications
designed to intentionally overload the network.
Engaging in activities that
compromise the security or integrity of our network or other users' servers.
Using automated scripts or bots to
gain unfair advantages or disrupt the network.
Hosting or distributing illegal
content or engaging in illegal activities.
Participating in Distributed Denial
of Service (DDoS) attacks or other forms of network disruption.
Network Integrity: Users must not engage in any
actions that could harm or destabilize the network, including but not limited
to network attacks, unauthorized access attempts, or the spread of malware.
Unauthorized access attempts include activities such as scanning, probing, or
attempting to hack into other servers or accounts.
§
Monitoring and Enforcement
To ensure compliance with this
Policy, we may monitor network usage and take necessary actions to maintain
network performance and integrity. These actions may include, but are not
limited to:
Usage Monitoring: We continuously monitor network
traffic and resource usage to detect unusual or excessive consumption patterns.
This includes automated systems to flag potential issues and manual reviews by
our technical team.
Warnings and Notifications: If we detect excessive usage or
prohibited activities, we will notify the user and provide guidance on how to
reduce resource consumption. For example, a warning might be issued if a
server's bandwidth usage spikes above the acceptable limit for three consecutive
days.
Temporary Restrictions: In cases of severe or persistent
violations, we may temporarily restrict or throttle network access to prevent
further impact on other users. This might involve reducing the bandwidth
allocation for the offending server or temporarily suspending certain services.
Account Suspension or Termination: Repeated or egregious violations of
this Policy may result in account suspension or termination in accordance with
our Terms of Service. Users will be given notice of suspension or termination
actions and will have the opportunity to appeal.
Appeal Process: Users may appeal any enforcement
actions by contacting our support team. Appeals will be reviewed on a
case-by-case basis. Users must provide a detailed explanation of their actions
and steps taken to rectify the issue.
§
User Responsibilities
Users are responsible for ensuring
their usage complies with this Policy. Users should:
Regularly review their server
configurations and usage patterns.
Respond promptly to any notifications
or warnings from Streamers Host.
Seek assistance from our support team
if they need help optimizing their server setup.
Ensure their actions do not
negatively impact other users' experiences. This includes being mindful of peak
usage times and avoiding actions that could degrade service quality for others.
§
Policy Updates
We may update this Policy from time
to time to reflect changes in our services or network infrastructure. We will
notify users of significant changes through our website or via email. Continued
use of our services after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised
Policy.
